MARIELA TRAGASH  -  BIO


Mariela Tragash is the founder and CEO of Mariela Communications LLC, a direct-to-consumer marketing, communications, market research, advertising, and branding firm in the mainstream and Hispanic markets.  Her firm was established in 1994.

She has nearly twenty years of experience creating and implementing successful marketing programs for Fortune 500 firms such as ConAgra, Procter & Gamble, Dannon, and Nestle, as well as State Trade organizations - the Washington Apple Commission and the California Table Grape Commission.  Additionally, she has also worked with the California Department of Health Services, the U.S. Border Health Commission, and the FDA implementing public health programs in the Hispanic market.  These successful programs have received national recognition for achieving high brand/service/ awareness, sales increase, and market penetration at the local, regional, and national levels.  These programs have been implemented in the consumer packaged goods, food service, retail, health services, telecommunications, and entertainment industries.

Ms. Tragash is a professional public speaker, she has created and developed seminars, workshops, and presentations in the areas of business, marketing, management, motivational topics, cultural diversity (expert in psychographics/demographics), and related subjects in the public and private sectors.  Additionally, she represents many of her clients as a spokesperson with the local, regional, and national media in the mainstream and Hispanic markets.

Ms. Tragash has two degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Bachelors degree of Arts in Communication Studies and a Bachelors degree of Arts in Spanish Linguistics.  She was born in Argentina and is fluent in Spanish and can read and speak Italian.  She has done extensive work as a researcher for the Counseling Psychology Clinic at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in the areas of cultural assimilation, acculturation, and family interaction among various Latino groups. 

During the past ten years, she hosted a public access talk show and has been in television/radio commercials and HBO.  She also co-hosted the PBS membership drives and appeared in several talk shows discussing community issues.  She is a freelance writer and a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. 

Ms. Tragash is involved in many philanthropic causes particularly in the areas of education.  She received the Friedman Award from the Los Angeles Unified School District for her involvement and contributions to the Adult Education Division in the past ten years.  Additionally, Ms. Tragash has been involved in managing and coordinating several political campaigns at the local, regional, and national levels.  She is actively involved in business and civic affairs.
